Ceramic tile is one investment in your home that for the average consumer will be a once and done project.
Low maintenance and extreme durability make this flooring choice very inviting.
Although tile is usually the most expensive flooring, it certainly is the one product for your home that will not wear out or need to be replaced.
Varied shapes and sizes of tile add to the wide range of possible designs and layouts. Diamond and checkerboard pattern as well as modular designs are all part of the endless ideas available in tile floors.
Ceramic tile can be used on kitchen backsplashes, tub surrounds, showers, fireplace surrounds and hearths, foyers and hallways, or any room in your home.
There are two primary types of ceramic tile used in homes:
Floor Tile - These tiles are rated for use on the floor in trafficked areas, but they could also be used on the walls. They vary in thickness from 1/4" to 1/2". Floor tile comes in different textures, from a rough surface for use in areas where skid resistance is needed, to smooth surface such as marble.
Wall Tile - These tiles are for use on the wall or tub and fireplace surrounds only. They are not rated for areas that will be walked on. They are available in matte or glaze finish. More and more people are using these “Deco tiles” to add a little something extra to the look of backsplashes and walls. Decos are ceramic tiles with pictures and patterns to enhance an otherwise bland area.
Although we will come to your home to take an exact measurement, you may want to have an estimate of how much you need when you shop.
